Nestlé Foodservice to focus on core activities

Nestlé Foodservice, the Nestlé South Africa division dedicated to catering and vending solutions, is reviewing its business operations in order to maximise effective customer service. It is considering outsourcing its technical services operation, which provides technical support to all vending equipment, in order to focus on its core business activities while maintaining a strong technical backup service.

In line with Nestlé's BEE strategy, preference will be given to its own employees to take up the opportunity to establish new service provider businesses contracted to Nestlé. No retrenchments are contemplated.

Business unit manager Barend Minnaar explains that this move is in line with Nestlé's international trends and aims to offer a higher level of operational flexibility and improved response time, which is essential to remain competitive in this industry.

At the same time, the business is focusing on a number of new initiatives including the recent launch of Sical and Buondi, two new brands in the roast and ground coffee segment, in order to provide a wider offering of premium products to customers.
