Electrical Assistant

Qualification and skills
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Deadline driven.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to follow instruction.
• Highly motivated individual with strong self-management skills.
• High level of trustworthiness and ethical conduct.
• The daily physical demands are those required of an electrical assistant.
• The candidate must be physically fit.
• The person will be required to travel to sites.
• The work environment characteristics are those encountered in a typical environment.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Dig holes and trenches, plant poles and lay cables in trenches.
• Chase and cut walls and concrete floors for conduit.
• Strip redundant installations and equipment incidental thereto from which the supply cables have been removed.
• Clean office and worship areas.
• Prepare refreshments.
• Install and fix flush and surface mounted wire ways and ancillary equipment thereto.
• Install cables including the fitting of glands, making off and securing such cables, but excluding the connection thereof.
• Being able to do trenching/digging for cable installation.
