TFG delivers new bags to 1000 learners

1,000 learners in Kensington and Caledon started their school year with brand-new school bags and stationery packs donated by fashion lifestyle retailer, TFG.

The schools were specially selected by employees from TFG’s Prestige factories based in those areas. The employees, wanted to alleviate the cost for struggling parents in the community closest to them, whose children were starting school for the first time.

Mymoena Mooradd, CSI Manager at TFG, says that with the help of family fashion brand, Exact, the bags were delivered to the schools and happily received by the excited learners.

“The foundation phase is important as it lays the basis for future success. These learners now have all of the tools that they need and we wish them a successful first year.”

As part of its investment into education in local communities, TFG has already provided the following to schools across South Africa:

  • 13,000 blankets to schools in Diepsloot.
  • School uniforms to learners in Kamhlushawa.
  • School fee sponsorships by Club X & Kids club magazine.
  • Provision of clean water to schools in the Western Cape, Gauteng and the Free State.

“In future, we intend to expand the school initiatives across South Africa and Africa,” says Mooradd.
