Heart 104.9FM Mommy and Me Walk

This Mother's Day sees hundreds of Capetonian mommies and kiddies showing their hearts by putting their walking shoes on for the less fortunate. The Heart 104.9FM Mommy and Me Walk in association with Tygerburger and People's Post will take place at Canal Walk on the 9th May 2009. The walk, partnered with two formidable community newspapers, is set to bring neighbourhoods together in making a difference to little hearts.
Funds raised with the fun walk will assist the Canal Walk Foundation in one of their current social investment initiatives. The foundation focuses on a few areas of development namely education, health, job creation and sponsorship of arts development programmes.

The Heart 104.9FM Mommy and Me walk in association with TygerBurger and People's Post will be supported by Heart 104.9FM's newest mommy, Saskia Falken, who recently gave birth to a beautiful little girl. She will be joined by various other celebrity moms in Cape Town who will be taking out their trainers for this good cause.

The 1.6km walk (two laps around the ground floor inside Canal Walk) is open to all mommies and their kids under the age of 12 years. Pre-registration will take place from 5-8 May from 9am-9pm in Canal Walk. The fun-filled walk will have ample activities for moms and their kids. Check-in takes place in the Canal Walk Food Court from 07h15 until 08h00 where numbers will be issued. The walk kicks off at 08h15 and will end at 09h00.

Entry forms are also available at the Heart 104.9FM studios, TygerBurger's office in Bellville and the People's Post office in Tokai from 18 April. Alternatively, download a registration form from www.1049.fm and bring it with you to pre-registration.

For more information visit www.1049.fm or www.canalwalk.co.za or keep an eye out for your copy of the Tygerburger and People's Post community newspapers.

Cant the time be change-
gooday this is a real fantastic Idea! the kids will so enjoy it, 10 of my friends including myself wanted to register, but why did you guys decide to keep it so early, to be at a shopping mall at 7am is way to early, wont u consider changing the even for 9 or 10am, or has the mall be booked for that time to avoid bumping into shoppers

i agree-
i totally agree to the mommy that suggested the time change, to wake the kids up at 6 or even 6.30 will make them crabby, but the walk is an excellent idea!
