Smashing Cape TownThe Cape Grace Hotel's Bascule Bar, Groot Constantia wine estate and the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, near Grahamstown, were picked by The Daily Beast, a popular news and opinion website affiliated to Newsweek.
The list was compiled by a team at luxury travel company Andrew Harper.
Charles Collins, the floor manager at Groot Constantia, said: "It is phenomenal news because we aim to be a world-class international destination and it means a lot to us."
Andrew Harper wrote of the estate, situated on a heritage site in the suburb of Constantia, Cape Town: "In a handsome facility that would put many Napa wineries to shame, we enjoyed notable bottling such as the 2012 Blanc de Noir and the 2010 Gouverneurs Reserve, a fine red blend."
Whisky-tastings at the Bascule Bar were highly recommended by the Andrew Harper team, which named it the best bar.
"Here, a trove of more than 500 whiskies, said to be the largest in the southern hemisphere, awaits patrons," they wrote.
Bar manager George Novitskas said: "We are excited and the team is pleased to be recognised for its constant effort."
Whisky-tasting at the bar costs from R195 to R500 a person.
For the best wildlife experience, you could visit Kwandwe Game Reserve, in Eastern Cape.
Its general manager, Graeme Mann, said: "We are delighted because we have always put the wildlife experience at the forefront."
