    Business Tech Africa responsibilities
    • Prospect, pitch, and close advertising, sponsored content, native campaigns, event sponsorships, thought leadership series, and strategic partnership deals with corporate marketing teams, media agencies, and C-suite decision-makers.
    • Build and leverage an existing network of contacts across banking, fintech, mining, enterprise tech, telecoms, and professional services within South Africa and key African markets.
    • Develop tailored proposals that align client objectives with Business Tech Africa’s positioning as a leading, independent authority on business, technology, and economic developments across the continent.
    • Collaborate with editorial and events teams to create high-value, insight-led campaigns including sponsored reports, executive interviews, podcast, and roundtables.
    • Identify and unlock opportunities tied to key business trends, innovation sectors, and industry developments to position clients as thought leaders within the African market.
    • Deliver campaigns that prioritise credibility, audience relevance, and measurable ROI for B2B clients.
    Entertainment SA

    This is a vibrant online platform covering entertainment, pop culture, lifestyle, events, music, and celebrity news in South Africa and other markets. It connects brands with a youthful, trend-conscious, and highly engaged audiences.

    Commercial opportunities

    We partner with brands to deliver meaningful, brand-safe, and culturally aligned content experiences. Through a curated and selective approach, our platform ensures that all brand integrations add real value to its audience while enabling advertisers to connect with consumers in a way that feels authentic and impactful. Strong appeal for FMCG, lifestyle brands, alcohol brands, fashion, events, streaming platforms, and youth-focused campaigns etc.

    Entertainment SA responsibilities
    • Prospect, pitch, and close advertising, sponsored content, native campaigns, event sponsorships, influencer collaborations, and brand partnership deals with consumer marketing teams, agencies, and brand decision-makers.
    • Build and leverage an existing network of contacts across FMCG, alcohol brands, fashion, beauty, automotive, events, and entertainment industries within South Africa.
    • Develop tailored proposals that align client objectives with entertainment SA’s positioning as a culturally relevant platform at the center of youth, lifestyle, and entertainment trends.
    • Collaborate with editorial, social, and creative teams to deliver engaging, high-impact campaigns that integrate content, social media, and on-the-ground activations.
    • Identify and capitalise on cultural moments, trends, and events to create timely and relevant commercial opportunities for brands.
    Additional key responsibilities
    • Develop compelling sales narratives for, Business Tech Africa as a premium B2B thought leadership platform and entertainment SA as a high-engagement consumer lifestyle platform while creating integrated packages that leverage both audiences where relevant
    • Own the full sales cycle lead generation → discovery calls → strategic consultation → proposal development → negotiation → close → renewal.
    • Hit and exceed monthly/quarterly revenue targets while contributing to the go-to-market strategy, product development, and long-term commercial growth of the platform.
    • Stay up to date with, digital media trends, competitor offerings and agency buying patterns so we continuously Identify new revenue streams.
    Skills and competencies
    • Minimum 4 years proven B2B sales experience, ideally within digital advertising, media sales, sponsored content, or integrated marketing solutions, particularly on news, business, or lifestyle platforms.
    • Experience selling across both corporate/B2B audiences and consumer/B2C markets is highly advantageous.
    • Existing book of business or strong personal network within, corporate marketing teams, agencies, C-suite and senior decision-makers across Africa is a strong advantage.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to, engage in boardroom-level conversations, present to senior stakeholders, craft compelling, insight-driven proposals.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and cold outreach through to negotiation, closing, and renewals.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to hunting new business, building pipelines, and converting opportunities into revenue.
    • Strong negotiation skills and experience navigating complex decision-making units and multi-stakeholder environments.
    • Commercially driven with the ability to translate audience insights, trends, and content into high-value revenue opportunities.
    • Solid understanding of digital media metrics, campaign performance, and ROI measurement.
    • Passion for media, storytelling, and content-driven platforms, with an appreciation for both, African business and tech narratives and entertainment, culture, and consumer engagement
