Support Data Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data integration systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and DevOps to ensure data availability and integrity
- Provide technical support for batch jobs and real-time data streaming
- Assist in improving data reliability, efficiency, and quality
- Document support processes and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams
Experience and qualifications:
- 3 years’ experience in a Data Engineering, DataOps, or Technical Support role
- Solid understanding of SQL and data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, DBT, Informatica)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience in the financial industry or working with financial datasets (advantageous)
- Python or Shell scripting experience
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX)
The reference number for this position is NG60437 which is a permanent Hybrid position based in Johannesburg offering a cost to company of R450k up to R650k per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
