Tourism Sales Co-ordinator

This permanent position plays a key role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with tourism stakeholders, including travel agents, tour operators, destination management companies, and other group organisers. The successful candidate will ensure that the Aquarium remains a top-of-mind destination for both local and international visitors by providing excellent service, coordinating group bookings, and representing the brand within the broader tourism network.
Key requirements are:
•Diploma or degree in tourism, sales, marketing or a related field.
•2–3 years’ experience in a tourism sale, travel trade, or hospitality role.
•Experience working in a visitor attraction, hotel, DMC, or tourism body is advantageous.
•Experience using CRM systems, booking platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills and attributes:
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Strong customer service ethos with attention to detail.
•Organised, deadline-driven, and able to multitask under pressure.
•Knowledge of the local tourism landscape and international travel trade channels.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Flexible availability for occasional after-hours or weekend events.
Responsibilities:
•Build and maintain strong relationships with tour operators, travel agents, DMCs, group organisers, and tourism bodies.
•Manage bookings and enquiries for group visits, and special interest tours.
•Maintain up-to-date records of partners, agents, and operators
•Attend trade shows, sales missions, and tourism networking events, representing the Aquarium professionally.
•Process and confirm group bookings, including issuing quotes and invoices.
•Prepare and update sales materials, rate sheets, and marketing materials.
•Monitor sales performance and produce reports on KPIs, booking trends, and opportunities.
•Assist with planning and co-ordinating site inspections for tourism stakeholders.
•Collaborate with the marketing team on seasonal promotions, packages, and deals.
•Liaise with operations / front-of-house teams to ensure smooth handling of groups and pre-arranged tours or events.
•Communicate specific requirements or operational needs clearly to relevant departments.
The tourism sales co-ordinator will report directly to the head of revenue and guest experience, ensuring that group sales, trade engagement, and visitor experience initiatives are fully aligned in support of overall business growth.
