Editorial Intern - Woman & Home

Highbury Media (Pty) Ltd T/A Habari Media is a media powerhouse, whose world-class titles connect brands to targeted audiences.

We are seeking an editorial intern residing in Cape Town, currently unemployed, and seeking to gain workplace experience to join our dynamic editorial team for Woman & Home Magazine. This role focuses on digital content but may also involve some work on the print magazines.

The successful candidate will be required to do the following:

• Generate story ideas weekly
• Write articles based on various topics that fall within the magazine's content pillars.
•  Assist with fact-checking of stories
•  Assist with the editors with any editorial tasks needed
•  Keep abreast of current affairs
•  Manage social media channels when necessary
• Attends events when required and produces necessary content from event where applicable.

Requirements:  

• Tertiary qualification in English and/or journalism
•  Proficiency in a Mac operating system and WordPress CMS
•  Excellent writing, copy-editing and organisational skills
• Able to work accurately under deadline pressure and willing to work overtime when necessary
• Work experience in the media industry is an advantage
