    A new opportunity has become available at our Pyrotec Cape Town workshop. Pyrotec is a privately owned South African company that specialises in providing innovative and top-quality product identification solutions. Our business includes a vast array of top-of-the-line Coding Machinery and Labelling Equipment designed to elevate your packaging to the next level. Furthermore, our Smart Software Solutions are game-changers! They’re not just about coding; they’re about safeguarding your products, streamlining operations, and ensuring seamless data management and label tracking.

    PackWorx is our specialised engineering machine workshop focusing on the design, manufacture, and maintenance of conveyors, feeding, and automated systems for the packaging and manufacturing industries. With an increased demand for customised engineering solutions, we are looking for a Workshop Assistant to support our Artisans to ensure we continue delivering quality workmanship and innovative solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on, technically minded individual who is eager to gain practical experience while supporting skilled artisans.

    Requirements:
    • Matric certificate
    • College phase training – advantageous
    • Minimum 1 year workshop experience
    • Minimum 1 year experience using tools (cutting, power, measurement and workshop tools – i.e. drills, grinders, spanners, cut off saws etc)
    • Willingness to learn – fitting, turning and machining processes
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety requirements
    • Reliable and punctual
    • Able to take instructions and work under supervisor

    Duties:
    • Assist and support Artisans with daily workshop tasks
    • Preparing tools, materials and machines for daily use
    • Maintaining cleanliness and order in the workshop
    • Follow safety and quality guidelines

    Please note this is a contract position and successful applicants should not expect permanent employment. Successful candidates will be paid between R45 to R60 per hour.
