Sean de Waal wins Thomas Pringle Award

Sean de Waal, literary editor and film reviewer for the Mail and Guardian, has won the 2001 FNB/Vita Thomas Pringle Award for his film reviews. The judging committee made special mention of his "sensitive, textured response" to an Iranian film The Colour of Paradise, about a blind child.
De Waal is also a recipient of the 1997 Thomas Pringle Award for book reviews.
