The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) is awaiting a report on the reported killing of three South Africans in Kabul, Afghanistan.

"We have not received information about the deaths of the three people. We are waiting for a report from our mission in Pakistan, which is accredited to Afghanistan," the department's Nelson Kgwete told SAnews on Sunday.

Media outlets today reported that a Taliban attack on a foreign compound in Kabul on Saturday killed a South African father, son and daughter - Werner Groenewald, his son Jean-Pierre and daughter Rodé.
