Playstation Ad

Generally advertising doesn't bother me - it's not it's place to teach my kids how to live - but I can't deny its impact - so I wonder why - in a country with horrifying women abuse statistics - the Playstation ad reading "Whip your Wife" was allowed to slip through? Any thoughts? Granted it's for a luxury item and pertains to a game - but driving by it - that's the lettering that jumps out at you. That it's offensive is an understatement, but worse - it's irresponsible.
