Essential Hardware partners DIY show
Essential Hardware will partner the fifth season of the TV series "DIY Met Riaan", hosted by South Africa's DIY guru, Riaan Garforth-Venter, better known as Die Nutsman. The series, which starts on Saturday 8 May 2010, will use the latest range of its house branded tools and equipment available from all stores nationwide. Price perception, ad war
Checkers has been claiming 800 000+ customers because of its better prices and store experience. However, Pick n Pay took it to the ASA and Checkers pulled the ad. Then, last week, Carte Blanche aired its Grocery segment. Their basket comparison of 17 selected items (such as chicken, Five Roses tea and Skip washing powder) revealed a gap of R39.54 between the most expensive, Woolworths, and the cheapest, Checkers adding up to a saving of R2056 over a year. Primedia Lifestyle, South Africa's shopping centre marketing consultancy, is the only company in Africa to receive finalist positions and be awarded nine finalist titles, the most number of nominations for any one company at the European Solal Awards, which recognise shopping centre marketing excellence.
