Restaurants and fast food outlets need a mindset change post Covid-19
At the end of May this year, when South Africa was in Level 3 lockdown, I wrote an article about the need for customers to feel safe when going to restaurants and fast food outlets. Regulations for restaurants at that stage required them to have a maximum of 50% of their capacity with a compulsory screening questionnaire and customers wearing masks. Restaurants also had to close by 10pm and were prohibited from selling alcohol. The key message then was that restaurants and fast food outlets should be taking all preventative measures possible and communicating them to their customers so that they feel safe and this would create long-term loyalty. 8 Oct 2020
