Helmut Engelbrecht, head of Standard Bank Investment Banking Africa, said that the recognition is testament to the group's knowledge and expertise in finance for major projects in all its key sectors and highlights the group's ability to advise clients on and implement significant domestic and cross border deals in emerging markets.

Assessment of the Global Finance awards drew input from industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts. Judges considered a number of factors, including market share, number and size of deals, service and advice, structuring capabilities, distribution network, efforts to address market conditions, innovation, pricing, after-market performance of underwritings and market reputation.
