Imagine! New Media wins Edgars Club mag

New Media has won the sought after contract to publish the Edgars Club monthly customer magazine, IMAGINE, following a highly contested three way pitch.

The IMAGINE contract positions New Media, which already publishes Diner, planet e, Fun Book and Off Limits for Edgars, as the leading custom publisher in South Africa with over 25 customer publications for clients including DSTV (Multichoice), DaimlerChrysler (Mercedes), Nedbank (BusinessLife), the Pezula Group (PEZULA), Plascon (Plascon Colour) and Woolworths TASTE magazine.

New Media will also be responsible for advertising sales for IMAGINE, which is distributed monthly to over 700 000 Edgars Club members.

According to Elaine Holmes, executive manager of Edgars Club, New Media's creative concept and thinking was spot on in terms of the vision for the future growth of the Edgars' market. "IMAGINE serves as a key communications tool and New Media's complete offering and strategic, creative thinking is exactly what we need at this point to grow the business further. We have a long-standing affiliation with New Media, who we feel are industry leaders in the customer publishing magazine sector."

New Media's managing director Bridget McCarney said the entire company was delighted to be working with South Africa's largest customer magazine client. "Customer publishing is an effective and sophisticated form of marketing communication and can deliver measurable results. We believe that with our proposed focus, IMAGINE will play a more strategic role in promoting the Edgars brand and will take customer loyalty to even higher levels."

New Media will officially take over the reins for IMAGINE in April and publish their first issue in August.
