Creative Writing Workshop offered in English, isiXhosa and Afrikaans
Would you like to discover or develop your creative writing voice? This workshop offers facilitated guidance by experienced, well-known writers across various genres, helping you strengthen your creative expression for personal development and enrichment.
Register by 14 September.
What is the focus of this workshop?
This 8-week workshop follows a facilitated creative writing structure focused on confidence, self-expression and reflection. While positioned as a personal enrichment initiative, it also contributes to improved communication, confidence and team cohesion in the workplace.
You will have the opportunity to step outside of your day-to-day roles and develop your voice in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Sessions 2 to 7 are offered in language-specific groups to encourage fuller participation and create a sense of emotional safety while affirming linguistic and cultural identity. You can engage in the language you are most comfortable with while supporting inclusion, cultural identity and a sense of belonging.
With your consent, written contributions will be compiled into a book, and each participant will receive a copy.
What are the prerequisites?
No prior writing experience is required. The workshop focuses on enjoyment and self-expression in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. There are no assessments or performance expectations, and sharing written work is always optional.
