The online retail services in Kenya and Nigeria, under the Kalahari brand, were launched in October 2009 and January 2010 respectively by MIH.
According to a release issued by MIH, the performance of the service has been below expectations since the launch of the service and reaching profitability was not a reasonable near-term prospect. A decision was then made to focus efforts on other group businesses with in the region.
