ITU drafts guidelines to protect children online
The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has pledged its commitment to creating a safe online environment, that protects children worldwide when using the internet and cyberspace.
The ITU has created a set of guidelines for the protection of children in cyberspace, which will be presented in draft form for discussion in Japan on 2-3 June 2009.
The final Guidelines on Child Online Protection will be issued at the ITU Telecom World event scheduled for October in Geneva, Switzerland. Interested parties will be able to submit comments until 30 June 2009.
