    A24 Media commemorates 1994 Rwandan genocide

    A24 Media have launched a special feature that tracks the growth and changes that have been made in Rwanda since the 1994 genocide. The company's recently launched stills collection also now features a special section on prominent world icons.

    A video and stills page is available on the A24 Media website covering Rwanda and the progress it has made 15 years after the 1994 genocide that affected the economical and social structure of the African nation.

    The recently launched stills collection features a special section on prominent people, with photographs of leaders, both past and present from photos of Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda to Prince Charles visiting Buruburu in 1987 and even President General Charles de Gaulle of France with Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia and a young Muammar Gadaffi. This exciting section is now available to buyers on the A24 Media website under the African Photography link.

    Company chairman Salim Amin recebtly received the African Achievers Award at the African International Media Summit in Addis Ababa on 15 March, 2009. The media summit was organised by the African Communication Agency (ACA), in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

    The aim of the conference was to carry out a critical discussion about the re-branding of Africa and the portrayal of Africans in the media. Speaking after receiving the award, Salim said "This is a great honour for me, as this acknowledges the work that we at A24 Media are doing to transform the perception of Africa in the international arena by allowing Africans to tell their stories their way on an international platform."
