After ten years of investment in Africa, Fleishman-Hillard's African network now stretches from Cape Town to Cairo, with over 100 people on the ground. The hub of the network is based at the Fleishman-Hillard office in Johannesburg, extending its reach from there to other offices in Africa. Fleishman-Hillard has official affiliates in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and Egypt.

In addition te company has partner agencies in Mozambique, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Tanzania, Cameroon, Rwanda, Ghana, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco etc.

The Fleishman-Hillard African network shares several clients, including Visa and Nokia, where work is completed in more than one African country. The company has received interest in a generic African communications solution, especially from global aid agencies, development banks and corporate foundations.

Fleishman-Hillard Johannesburg has twenty-five years of experience in providing communications solutions to South African businesses and is the contact point and information point in the African network, to which African affiliates and partners can turn for key messages, media material, launch management, crisis communication plans, media monitoring and evaluation.

Fleishman-Hillard South Africa's (FHSA) experience across the African continent and relationships with agencies on the ground gaive it valuable insights into the nature of local markets and media.

According to Kevin Welman, managing director of Fleishman-Hillard Johannesburg, Fleishman-Hillard is the first global agency to have such a meaningful presence in Africa: "We do not only pay lip-service to Africa, but interact with our affiliates and partners across the continent on a daily basis. We share best practices, conduct training and implement custom-made solutions.

"Africa rejects generic solutions. Only one global PR agency can offer the combination of intimate local knowledge, on-the-ground capabilities coupled with leading global capabilities required to do successful business on the continent, and that is Fleishman-Hillard," he says.
