Sytech discusses social media at Sign Africa

Sytech Supplies has compiled an e-book explaining how the internet and especially social media can be used to increase marketing effectiveness in the signage and graphics industry. Sytech will present a talk on "Social Media for the signage industry" at Sign Africa 2009 on Friday, 4 September 2009. Sign Africa takes place from 2 - 4 September 2009 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Arthur Van Wyk, head of brand marketing at Sytech Supplies will host the presentation. Van Wyk's first project, once appointed at the company, was a total revamp of the company's corporate website and putting in place a brand strategy.

To complement the company's print advertising in Practical Sign & Digital Graphics and Durban newspaper the Sunday Tribune, it launched a blog. The blog, according to the Sytech, became the company's mouthpiece and biggest information dissemination tool. It then launched various social media profiles on platforms including Flickr (photo sharing), Facebook, Slideshare (presentation and ebook sharing), the video portals Youtube and Zoopy as well as microblogging platform Twitter.

The social media tools are used to drive traffic to the company's blog and corporate website.

Immediately after Van Wyk's presentation at the final day of the Sign Africa exhibition, the e-book will be made available for download on the website and blog of Sytech Supplies.
