10% of entire global population is online

The number of Internet users will reach 655 million this year - equivalent to 10% of the entire global population and a 31% increase on 2001, according to a United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Sales via the Internet could reach $2.3 billion this year, 50% up on 2001.
