Yahoo ups its ads
Yahoo is to increase its online advertising offerings using the technologies of Eyeblaster for flash-animated pop-up ads, PointRoll to expand ad banners when a mouse cursor touches them, EyeWonder to stream video commercials, and Unicast which creates ads that allow for navigation within themselves without leaving the website.
The web portal this week reported a profit of $21.4 million, their first in six quarters, thanks largely to an increase in fee-based online services. These include auctions, personal ads, financial news services and consumer services such as e-mail.
