SABC taken to task in parliament

During a debate in parliament in Tuesday on the communications budget Communications Minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri took issue with the SABC's programming, saying that it failed to live up to its mandate in terms of programme content and seemed to have a bias for entertainment programmes. She felt that the fare should be balanced with education and information, as well as make use of more African languages.
