Cape Town author signs Hollywood book deal
Cape Town author Lauren Beukes will be working with a top Hollywood movie producer after signing a deal to have her bestseller, Broken Monsters, turned into a television series.
She said she met Scot Aversano, acclaimed producer of Safe House and his team in Los Angeles while she was on a tour. Broken Monsters is the first book property bought by Endemol Studios.
Another of Beukes's award-winning books, The Shining Girls, will be adapted for the silver screen by Leonardo DiCaprio's production company, Appian Way, along with the independent film and television studio MRC. - Nashira Davids
