Wa Azania clinches US book-publishing deal
Youth activist Malaika wa Azania's book, Memoirs of a Born Free: Reflections on the Rainbow Nation, is making waves in the United States.
South African publisher Jacana Media said the book's international publishing rights had been sold to New York's Seven Stories Press.
The book is based on the life of Soweto-born Wa Azania, 23, as she discovers her political self and her Pan African ideals. Wa Azania said the new deal would help provide for her mother and siblings, while also paying her Rhodes University tuition fees.
