| This has been pretty successful in Nigeria, Verve holding about 20% of the market, enough for Visa to invest in Interswitch. A group of retailer tried a private semi-open version of this in the States (MCX) but it never took off. Regulator led domestic schemes has potential and in Africa, could hopefully later expand to an African and international accepted version (UnionPay, EPI, etc.) |
