Eskimi launches number portability marketing system; new MNP research

A new research conducted by Eskimi showed that 40% of the current users are planning to switch to other mobile operator and are not happy with the current service. Customers are planning to switch motivated by cheaper call rates, better quality of service or better internet being main arguments for the decision.

Eskimi research also found out that only 50% of the users actually knew what is number portability and that they can switch to another network without changing their number.

The research analyzed the current loyalty of each mobile operator and compared the reasons of the intention to change telecommunications service provider.

Vytas Paukstys, CEO of Eskimi says "It was very interesting to see from the results which operator has the most loyal customer base and which operator will benefit or loose the most from the number portability. We also asked people how it is important for them to keep the number".

Motivated by the research and the number portability system launch in Nigeria, Eskimi is also preparing to launch a number portability marketing system. The sponsoring mobile operator can then reach more than 30 million Nigerians and promote their porting offerings.

Paukstys says "The new number portability system in Eskimi will allow customers to choose a new mobile network if they are willing to switch. All the applications will be transferred to the mobile operator. Mobile operators will have a special dashboard to check porting requests and print porting request forms".

The new number portability system will ease the process of number portability by collecting porting requests from users. The consultants in retail outlets will just print the porting request form and ask for the user to sign. "We see some complaints from the research that customers had to come to the mobile operator outlet more than once. With the new number portability system we also hope to solve these issues customers face", Vytas commented on the benefits of the system.
