Takealot Group launches TFS to transform South Africa’s supply chain industry

The annual awards aim to provide due recognition to those who have contributed towards a sustainable energy future for South Africa. There are six categories but only three were awarded this year; the Energy Project Award, the Energy Journalism Award, and the Education Award.
Dave Wright, GM: Corporate Planning for Engen Petroleum, who was awarded the 2008 Education Award said: “SANEA holds monthly lectures on a diverse range of energy-related topics. They invited Engen to address SANEA members on the current South African oil industry and future supply-demand possibility - a topic very close to my heart and one that has major potential impact on us all. The situation is at a stage that South Africa needs to either import ever increasing volumes of product and upgrade our ports for these volumes or encourage refineries to invest in new configurations that will produce larger quantities of diesel in order to meet consumer and industry demand. Both options will be costly but one of them will need to be implemented. I am delighted that the presentation and the subsequent discussion made such an impact that SANEA saw fit to present me with its award for Education.”
