2011 Encounters Documentary Festival open for entries
The 2011 Encounters South African International Documentary Festival is open for entries to its 13th edition. The festival will take place in Cape Town and Johannesburg from 9-26 June.
Presenting both South African and International films, the festival will also feature Q&As with filmmakers, master classes, workshops and industry events.
Call for entries
The organisers of Encounters are calling for entries from South African and international filmmakers for the festival. Due to the number of entries, Encounters will be charging a nominal submission fee of US$15. African filmmakers are however exempt.
Encounters is a South African distributor of documentaries to the South African public. Encounters makes sales of films to television, theatrically and on DVD.
Awards include the Audience Award for Best South African film and Audience Award for Best International film.
The deadline for submissions is 20 March 2011.
