SAP urges ICT players to seize new opportunities

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) businesses in Africa have been urged to seize opportunities that come along as a result of the economic recession currently wreaking havoc the world over.

Addressing hundreds of business leaders at the World Tour Conference at Gallagher in Johannesburg on Tuesday, 2 June 2009 SAP vice president for Product Strategy, Jeff Word, said the emerging and established companies should adopt new survival strategies that would enable them to thrive in these uncertain times.

“They should bear in mind that in every crisis there are opportunities, so they should take advantage of the situation. If they can not see what is happening in their business, they can not make any good decisions,” said Word.
