SA and Egypt most active on Twitter
News24 reports that, according to a study by a strategic communications agency in Portland, the Egyptian uprisings and the passing of Nelson Mandela in South Africa have resulted in the two African countries being rated the most active on Twitter.
The report further states that the top five active African cities on Twitter in the last three months of 2013 were Johannesburg (344,215 geo-located tweets), followed by Ekurhuleni (264,172), Cairo (227,509), Durban (163,019) and Alexandria (159,534).
In East Africa, Nairobi is deemed the most active city with 123,078 geo-located tweets and in West Africa it's Accra with 78,575.
