Mark Harris appointed CEO of Kagiso Media

Kagiso Media (KGM) has announced that it has appointed Mark Harris as the company's Group CEO effective 1 August 2013.

Harris has spent 30 years with IBM in various capacities both in South Africa as Managing Director of the South African operations and more recently he has operated in expanding operations in 18 African countries.

"Mark (Harris) has engaged strategically to consider integrated and converged channels in the ICT sector which experience will be invaluable to Kagiso Media as it develops its digital strategy. He brings strong strategic and operational experience to the group‚" the company said.

Until Harris assumes office‚ Omar Essack‚ the CEO of the Broadcasting Division will be acting as Group CEO.
