McCann-Erickson Wins Celtel
Amsterdam-based Mobile Systems International Cellular Investments has awarded its pan-African Celtel business to McCann-Erickson WorldGroup Africa, which prevailed over three other major international networks. Presentations were held over late October & early November in Amsterdam.
Celtel is the largest pan-African mobile telephony brand outside South Africa, with operations in 12 countries, and plans to spend around $40m across markets and communications disciplines in 2003.
McCann's pitch effort included contributions from over 20 staffers across half a dozen offices and units.
