    AWIEF announces 2025 finalists celebrating Africa’s women entrepreneurs

    The Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) has revealed the finalists for its 2025 awards, recognising women leaders and entrepreneurs driving innovation, building impactful businesses, and advancing inclusive growth across Africa.

    Now in its latest edition, the AWIEF Awards highlight women making measurable economic and social impact across sectors including technology, agriculture, energy, creative industries, and social enterprise.

    “The AWIEF Awards are a platform to honour women whose innovation, resilience, and leadership are shaping Africa’s future,” said Irene Ochem, AWIEF Founder and CEO. “Our 2025 finalists embody the transformative role women entrepreneurs play in creating a sustainable and prosperous continent.”

    The finalists were selected by an international panel of judges from a highly competitive pool of nominees.

    Young Entrepreneur Award:

    Social Entrepreneur Award:

    • Farana Boodhram – South Africa
    • Naom Monari – Kenya
    • Barbara Nabigambo – Uganda

    Agri Entrepreneur Award:

    • Linda Davis – Kenya
    • Ruth Ede – Nigeria
    • Millicent Okumu – Kenya
    • Josephine Takundwa – Zimbabwe

    Tech Entrepreneur Award:

    • Vivian Arinaitwe – Uganda
    • Maryanne Gichanga – Kenya
    • Naledi Magowe – Botswana

    The winners of the AWIEF Awards 2025 will be announced during the AWIEF Conference, Exhibition and Awards at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 30–31 October 2025.

    The AWIEF Awards continue to champion women-led enterprise and innovation across Africa, celebrating those who create not only successful businesses but also meaningful social and economic impact.
