Invitation for nominations to serve on Film Publication Board

The Film Publication Board Advisory Panel invites nominations or self-nominations to serve on the Film and Publication Board. The Board is responsible for the classification of films, interactive computer games and publications.

Nominations are invited of fit and proper persons who are of good character and not disqualified in terms of section 7 of the Act, and who are South African citizens permanently resident in the Republic, with extensive experience in or in-depth knowledge of one or more of the following matters: Education, Psychology, Religion, Law, Drama, Literature, Communications science, Photography, Cinematography, Gender issues, Children's rights.

In addition, nominees must have excellent report writing skills, a good understanding of visual media, and be available for a minimum of four hours per week during office hours for viewing sessions. Nominees in Durban must be proficient in one or more Indian language; Hindi or Tamil will be an added recommendation.

Nomination forms may be obtained from all Regional Offices of the Department of Home Affairs. Nominations must be submitted on or before 27 July 2004, on the prescribed form, to K.
