2002 Awards for Excellence in Franchising - Finalists

The finalists in the five categories of the Franchise Association of Southern Africa (FASA) Awards for Excellence in Franchising have been chosen. The winners in the categories Franchisor: Leading Developer of Emerging Entrepreneur, Brand Builder of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Franchisee of the Year and Franchisor of the Year will be announced at a banquet to be held at Gallagher Estate on Friday 18th October 2002.

Nic Louw, Executive Director of FASA believes the Awards once again focus on the contribution that franchising makes to the economy and to the development of the small business sector. "Franchising continues to show steady growth even in the face of the economic recession with more and more people choosing to control their own futures by owning their own businesses with the help of the franchise support mechanism."

The finalists in the five categories are:

    1. FRANCHISOR - LEADING DEVELOPER OF EMERGING ENTREPRENEURS

This category is a crucial one in the ongoing development of the emerging sector and it honours those franchisors who have gone out of their way to accommodate the emerging market thereby creating jobs and ensuring effective skills transfer. The finalists in this category are:
