Adidas teams up with SA sports personalities to drive charity campaign

In an effort to effect change in South Africa, Adidas has challenged sports personalities and teams to display their athletic capabilities creatively through challenge videos.

The global footwear and clothing brand has pledged to donate over R4 million in the next few months, by donating one pair of shoes for each video uploaded by the public or any sportsperson throughout the campaign.

Last week’s social media highlights included a video challenge between the DHL Stormers and Orlando Pirates.

Adidas has also opened up an ambassador programme competition, offering students the chance to become an ‘adidas creator’. The winner would receive R20,000 worth of Adidas kit and R30,000 towards his or her tuition or sports development. To enter the competition:

1. Make a creative training video (on your phone is fine)
2. Challenge a friend, work colleague or fellow sportsman.
3. Use the hashtag #HereToCreate.
4. Share with your followers on as many social media platforms as you can.
5. Make sure your post is on public view
6. Tag @adidasZA and mention that for each video created, Adidas will be donating a pair of shoes to a charity.

If you do not want to become an ambassador, but you would still like Adidas to donate a pair of shoes to charity, upload a video of yourself, your staff, colleagues or team showcasing your sporting talent in a challenging and creative way.
