PUMA visits West Africa for inspiration

JOHANNESBURG, SA: South Africa's Jomo Cosmos Football Club launched their new PUMA kit earlier this month in Thembisa, Johannesburg. The v1.10 speed kit, according to PUMA is inspired by the joy, rhythm and athleticism of Africa football and has the same design as that worn by Ghana, Algeria, Ivory Coast and Cameroon at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

"It is great that PUMA has continued to support Cosmos even through the clubs difficult times. We appreciate their loyalty and I believe this striking new kit will give my players an added boost and inspire us in our quest to win promotion to the premiership next season," said owner Jomo Sono.

Brett Bellinger, the marketing director of PUMA SA, said: "PUMA is very proud to have Jomo Cosmos FC wearing the v-series African Football kit for the coming season. This kit was launched in advance of the Orange African Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup tournaments this year and now with the launch of the club season we will see our local PUMA teams sporting the kit made famous in June and July by Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Algeria. We wish Jomo and the team the best of luck for this season and look forward to see them returning to the PSL in 2011/ 2012."

PUMA went to West Africa for inspiration for the revolutionised new v1.10 collection.
