The first crowdfunding platform in South Africa, Uprise.Africa, was awarded the best crowdfunding platform at the Tropics Magazine 8th inaugural cohort Tropics Changemakers Awards.
The awards took place in December, honouring African-doers, entrepreneurs and innovators.
Tropics magazine recognises business leaders and changemakers in more than 145 cities and more than 60 countries throughout the world.
“This is an auspicious moment for Uprise.Africa team to receive the Tropics Changemakers Award. It is a great honour, we are humbled and at the same time excited to be acknowledged as change makers,” Tabassum Qadir, CEO of Uprise.Africa.
“We are delighted that our modest efforts in contributing to entrepreneurs and small medium enterprise's (SMEs) has been noticed and appreciated by the esteemed organisation. 2018 was a great year for Uprise.
