Resource Alliance to host IFC Pop-Ups in SA

The Resource Alliance will host three one-day International Fundraising Congress (IFC) Pop-Up events in Joburg, Cape Town and Durban this year.

The IFC attracts hundreds of fundraisers each year and is recognised as a hub for learning, conversations and debates, aimed at transforming fundraising practices to build stronger, more effective and sustainable organisations. Unfortunately, the cost (registration plus international travel) puts it out of reach for most local organisations.

“There’s a real hunger among local fundraisers to learn and sharpen their fundraising skills, so we’re thrilled to have the support of Nedbank Private Wealth, University of Stellenbosch, GIBS and the UKZN Foundation to bring a selection of some of the best IFC workshops to South Africa at a more affordable cost,” says Sarah Scarth, the Resource Alliance’s Southern Africa representative.

Live Skype-link Q&As

Each IFC Pop-Up will feature four workshops delivered via video sessions, followed by live Skype-link Q&As with the speakers. The sessions' topics include: innovation and technology; writing winning proposals; story-telling; impact reporting; and building effective corporate partnerships.

The one-day IFC Pop-Ups take place in Johannesburg on 16 February (at GIBS in Illovo); in Cape Town on 9 March (at Stellenbosch Business School); and in Durban on 22 March (at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal Business School).

The cost to attend an IFC Pop-Up is R750 per delegate and for early birders there’s a discounted price of R550 for the first 80 delegates who sign up. The special early bird offer ends on 31 January; to secure a discount use one of these codes when registering: EARLYJOBURG, EARLYCAPETOWN or EARLYDURBAN. To register, go to www.resource-alliance.org/south-africa.

“If you’re looking for new learnings and inspiration to kick start your 2017 fundraising year, then the IFC Pop-Up is a must-attend event,” says Scarth.
