The Unconventional Hustle 2026, hosted by Unconventional Capital & Advisory (UCA), will take place on Friday, 2 October from 6pm at Bryanston Country Club in Johannesburg, bringing together around 200 South African entrepreneurs, corporate procurement leaders, funders and SME ecosystem partners.
The event is designed to help entrepreneurs gain direct access to the people who can unlock funding, procurement opportunities, partnerships and business growth. Rather than a traditional conference or networking event, the evening will include a keynote, an “Access Unlocked” panel discussion and structured matchmaking between founders and relevant decision-makers, followed by 90 days of follow-through to track the connections and opportunities created.
Confirmed speakers include Jonathan Mokuena, former Springbok Sevens captain, rugby coach and Head of Rugby at the University of Johannesburg, and Bulelani Balabala, Group CEO of IAF Brands, founder of the Township Entrepreneurs Alliance and author of Get Things Done. Additional speakers are still to be announced.
