"Reimagine. Recreate. Restore" - 5 June 2021 World Environment Day/ National Environment Month South Africa

With World Environment Day celebrated on 5 June 2021 this year, The United Nation's message for the year is "REIMAGINE. RECREATE. RESTORE: This is our moment. We cannot turn back time. But we can grow trees, green our cities, rewild our gardens, change our diets and clean up rivers and coasts. We are the generation that can make peace with nature. Let's get active, not anxious. Let's be bold, not timid. Join #GenerationRestoration"

EcoTraining takes the lead in the nature industry practicing Environment Day, every day, with a corporate vision of being the global leader in environmental education by reconnecting people with nature.

Operating for over 27 years, EcoTraining is the pioneer and leader in safari guide and wildlife training in Africa and is widely recognised by the safari industry for its credibility and standard of excellence in nature guide training.

The UN theme this year is focused on driving governments and communities to restore the ecosystem. Anton Lategan, Managing Director of EcoTraining, has always had a focus and mission to reach people from all walks of life with a conservation message. He has dedicated his life to preserving wildlife and serving local communities through environmental education. Anton believes that the principles of ecology are universal.

“We are part of nature and humanity needs to be balanced with a strong environmental consciousness and accountability to the global community. Environmental education is key to people becoming aware of the threats our ecosystem is facing” Said Lategan.

EcoTraining has always encouraged its students and all its Guardians of Nature to go on and instil in others, a way to maintain a way of life to preserve a relationship with the environment that is mutually beneficial, taking into account their own behaviour, before they can begin to teach others.

This World Environment Day, and National Environment Month in South Africa, EcoTraining reminds us all that change must start with ourselves. From there it can move through generations.
