Celebrating the Vodacom Durban July weekend with the #GNation

Gagasi FM has partnered with Airey Scott to bring you the Jack Daniel's Boomtown for this year's Vodacom Durban July taking place on Saturday 05 July 2014 at Greyville Racecourse in Durban. As the official radio partner, KwaZulu-Natal's urban radio station is set to add the #GNation flavour through the Gagasi FM marquee that will be located within the Boomtown village.

In line with this year's theme, "The Big Screen", guests at the Gagasi FM marquee will have an opportunity to capture their moments and the whole experience inside the marquee from fashion to entertainment, lifestyle, elegance and hospitality in a true big screen style.

To further enhance the Gagasi FM brand presence within this prestigious territory, Gagasi FM will broadcast live from the Boomtown Village from 10am until 10pm. The shows are The Urban Top 30 with DJ Vumar, Saturday Komotion with Lekomotion, Zeal4life with Zeal and The Weekend Takeover with King Sfiso. In Addition, Gagasi FM's DJ Lab, DJ Le Soul, DJ Vuma and King Sfiso will also be on the decks as part of the line.

The whole line-up includes Black Coffee, AKA & Da Les, Khuli Chana, Zakes Bantwini, Mi Casa, Dreamteam, Reason, DJ Clock, Uhuru and Teargas front man KO. There will also be special performances by Gagasi FM DJs such as DJ Vumar, DJ Lab, King Sfiso and DJ LeSoul. The Afternoon Show Off duo TP and Thandolwethu will be MCs for the day.

Gagasi FM has also lined up some other exciting activities as part of the Vodacom Durban July weekend. The station will host the 99% Zulu Comedy taking place on Thursday 4 July at Olive Convention Centre in Durban. I Love Mornings (breakfast show) host Mzokoloko will be on the decks, in addition the show features an experienced and never been-seen-before line-up of eight professional comics that are freshly KZN with sprinkles of Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.

The multi-award winning comic and one of KZN's most celebrated Sifiso Nene, who features in various television campaigns, will be the MC for the evening. He will share the stage with great talent such as Siyanda Maphumulo; Simphiwe Shembe; Eastern Cape's Anele Shube and Jay Boogie. The show breaks ground as, for the first time in its nine-year history, will feature the much demanded and SA's most popular political analyst puppet, Chester Messing as well as ZA News' Aggrey Lonake, who plays various political characters in the popular ZA News.

On Friday, Gagasi FM will broadcast live from News Café at King Shaka International Airport from 9am until 6pm. The shows are Tea time to lunch time hosted by Zookey Zarling, The Big Bang hosted by Kini Shandu and the Afternoon Show Off by TP and Thandolwethu. Throughout the day, the proudly KZN radio station will be welcoming guests from outside of KZN that will be visiting the city for the Vodacom Durban July weekend. The shows will also feature live interviews with celebrities and artists as they land to South Africa's playground.

To close of the Vodacom Durban July weekend in a true #GNation style, Gagasi FM will host the Shisanyama Sunday at One & Only at KwaMashu North of Durban. The event will feature the main performances by Black Coffee as well as Gagasi FM's DJ Vumar, TP, King Sfiso, DJ Lab and DJ Mario. Kini Shandu will be the MC for the day. There will also be a live broadcast of DJ Vumar's show Sunday Sundowners.
