Even though I often think that there really are enough awards shows by now, plus rumours of future awards shows for the best awards shows (if that doesn't in fact exist already), it is nonetheless always great to see excellent work in the industry acknowledged and rewarded. The beginning of this month saw yet another advertising awards show - the second African Cristal Awards - take place in Marrakesh, Morocco, which brought together African and international experts to celebrate exceptional work produced on the continent.
Here's to the King James Group which was named Agency of the Year; Ogilvy Africa Group which was named Network Agency of the Year; and of course
all the winners! Congrats!
Still on that note, Leigh Andrews reported on the awards and found out
how DDB ticks all the right boxes across the African advertising industry, as well as
what winning continent-wide awards means for the local ad industry.
In other news, Golden Muzanago asks whether
the Apple Watch will find a ready market amidst rising Africans; and Peter Searll discusses how the
African marketing intelligence business has changed in 10 years.
Last, but not least, if you missed last week's
Biz Takeouts show, make sure you
listen to the podcast which is now available.
That's all from me, have a great week!
Cheers!
