Lecturer and Module Coordinator (Apparel Production)
Job description

Key roles and responsibilities:- Lecture contact learning students in the following modules:
o Apparel production: Patterns 3 (DAPP361)
o Apparel production: Garments 3 (DAPG361)
- Perform the role and responsibilities of module coordinator (MC) for the following modules:
o Apparel production: Patterns 3 (DAPP361)
o Apparel production: Garments 3 (DAPG361)
- Use a learning management system independently and/or collaborate to develop and deliver modules.
- Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Complete grading for all the modules.
- Manage and coordinate tech room equipment.
- Procure consumables, materials, and fabrics in line with the SOF budget and procurement strategy.
- Co-manage the SOF Annual Fashion Show, including range reviews and fittings (where applicable).
- Conduct internal moderation for the below-mentioned modules:
o Fashion media 3 (BFMD371)
- Provide academic support to students.
- Complete all quality assurance requirements related to the modules.
- Participate in institutional research projects.
- Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.
Qualifications and experience | minimum requirements:- Minimum honours or equivalent qualification in fashion design or relevant studies in the field of clothing production
- At least three years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution.
- Relevant industry experience in small scale apparel production, including industry-recognised pattern making techniques, and garment production techniques
- Experience in curriculum and materials development.
- Knowledge and understanding of teaching practices and industry norms.
- Experience in online and blended teaching and learning environments will also be advantageous.
- Strong administrative skills (use of LMS and MS Suite environment).

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational, time management, and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to cope with change.
- Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
