The tours will be led by a horticulturist and Boschendal’s very own Food Garden manager, Megan McCarthy, who will teach visitors about gardening. Participants will be able to harvest their own vegetables after the tour which can be purchased by the kilogramme.

Megan joined The Werf Food Garden at Boschendal Wine Estate, which has since blossomed into a beautiful source of locally grown, natural and sustainable produce. The Food Garden services all three restaurants, two picnic areas and other catering activities on the Boschendal farm. Fresh produce is also sold at the Boschendal Farm Deli Shop, as well as at various restaurants and retailers in the Winelands.

A horticulturist and landscaper by trade, McCarthy has practised organic food production and permaculture since 2006.
