Debut album from Sergeant Fu

Following Sergeant Fu's World Cup hit track, Vuvuzela, the Joburg band are launching their debut album, "Push The Awesome Button". The album launch takes place at Tanz Café, Fourways, on Wednesday, 20 October, 2010.

At the launch, Sergeant Fu (headed up by Matthew Marinus and Ryno Zeelie) plan to introduce to the world, a completely new genre of music that they have created, called "feel good".

By creating this new musical fusion, the band aims to bring light and happiness to our everyday, routine-filled lives.

In terms of their sound, Sergeant Fu are distinctly unique. This different style will soon be instantly recognisable through its use of innocent themes and light-hearted lyrics. The album is predominantly driven with power-pop beats, yet introduces and incorporates the free-spirited, playful personality with unique samples and sounds.

Laugh, smile and giggle

Marinus said: "Ryno and I went on a quest to create a new genre of music called "feel good" and we feel that the vibe of the combined tunes on "Push The Awesome Button" will make people shake their ass, laugh, smile and giggle from beginning to end. That, in a nutshell, is what our debut album is all about. Enjoy!"

The first stop on the "feel good" quest is getting people to know and understand the lifestyle of Sergeant Fu. Written and produced solely by Marinus and Zeelie, Tinkies, Baby! is the first single off the album, which will be released to media from 11 October, 2010, before the album launch.

"Push The Awesome Button" will be available for public purchase from the end of October.
